We maintain several grant programs for members. Eligible applicants can seek funding for travel grants to attend our Annual Meetings, public scholarship grants, dissertation fellowships, regional development grants, and individual or collaborative research grants.

AAR Judith Plaskow Travel Grant
Awarded to a student or independent scholar who presents a paper contributing to feminist approaches to the study of religion at the November Annual Meeting.
AAR Annual Meeting Travel Grants
Grants of $500 each and complimentary registration to members who demonstrate financial need and a desire to participate in the November Annual Meeting.
AAR Religion and the Arts Travel Grant
Awarded to a graduate student studying religion and the arts who is without institutional support to attend the Annual Meeting.
AAR Individual Research Grants
Individual research grants provide support for important aspects of research, such as fieldwork or travel to archives and libraries.
AAR Collaborative Research Grants
Grants stimulate cooperative research among scholars who focus on collaborative interdisciplinary work with scholars outside the field of religion.
AAR International Collaborative Research Grants
Support generative research collaborations among scholars located in different geographical regions.
